Special Economic Zones Agency

Special economic zones (SEZs) are delimited areas of the national territory aimed at attracting massive investments, both national and foreign, and benefiting from a tax, parafiscal and customs regime more attractive than the common law regime applied on the rest of the territory. In addition to this particularly incentive regime, an SEZ also offers appropriate infrastructure and simplified administrative procedures. These areas are coordinated by the Special Economic Zones agency (AZES)

The five-year plan of the President of the Republic provides for the creation of six SEZs distributed as follows:

  • The Kinshasa Space Industrial Zone: made up of the City province of Kinshasa , Kongo Central and the former province of Bandundu;
  • The Kasai Space Industrial Zone: made up of the provinces of Kasai, Kasai Central, Kasai Oriental, Lomami and Sankuru;
  • The Industrial Zone of the former province of Katanga;
  • The Industrial Zone of Grand Kivu;
  • The Industrial Zone of the former Orientale province;
  • The Industrial Zone of the former province of Equateur. (Azes.com)
